My first masterclass on 8th March 2019 was a great success.

I am going to hold two more masterclasses on Friday 23rd and Friday 30th August 2019

If you are interested, please just e mail me.

I will be running the masterclass from the gallery.

The last two classes went extremely well, I learnt a great deal from them.

For these next two classes I have recruited my amazing assistant Annie to help with all the practical/organisation stuff. This will leave me free to concentrate on the tuition.

There will be a maximum of 5 people in our group.

I will provide all drawing and painting materials, tea/coffee and biscuits.

Bring clothes you don’t mind getting paint on, oil painting can be messy work.

Bring warm clothes, it can get cold working on the sea front.

The day will pan out approximately like this;

3 hours in the morning, a decent lunch break, then 3 hours in the afternoon.

9.30 Introduction.                             I’ll talk about what I do, how I go about drawing and painting, the tools and materials I use, my palette, my influences, etc.

10 – 12                                               Instructed and guided drawing on the beach, near the gallery, or if the weather is really bad – working from still life set up in the studio.

12 – 12.30                                          Summary and talk (critique) about how these drawing studies will be used to create one (or two) paintings in the afternoon.

2 – 4/4.30                                           Painting on the  beach or in the studio

4/4.30 – 5pm                                     Summary critique, discuss your work and plenty of Q and A.

The day will cost £120 and I can take card payments on the day.

Classes will be kept small, just about 5 people per class. It will be £120 for the day, including all materials.
